Staff Training and Development
Our staff members bring many credentials to the table, from our part time college students to our credentialed teachers. We all continually strive to learn new skills and to improve upon our early childhood education methods. To this end, every staff member of Roberge Early Learning Center participates in seminars, workshops, college level courses, in-service or online certificate programs every year. All full time personnel complete a minimum of 20 hours each year in continuing education, as well as regular First Aid and CPR training.
John Donovan, with a B.S. in Business Administration Sciences is the program director and operations manager. John is currently enrolled in the Connecticut Director’s Credential Program at Goodwin College.
Louise Donovan earned her M.S. in Special Education (early childhood) and a second M.S. in Education (specialization in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment). She serves as Early Childhood Curriculum Specialist and teaches the preschool group.
Julie Donovan has completed her bachelors’ degrees from Central Connecticut University. Julie has been working at the center since 2004. Julie is the lead care provider for of our toddlers.
Sarah Levinson works alongside Julie as a teaching assistant trained to care for both infants and toddlers. Sarah helps our infants make the transition from the infant room to the toddler program by “looping” up with them and providing consistency of care.
Toccara DeClaybrook is currently completing her degree in Early Childhood Education (30 credits to date). Upon joining our staff in 2015, she brought with her several years of experience in early childhood centers. Toccara provides provides loving,inividualized care for our infants.
Sarah Aresti joined us in 2018. Sarah has a BS in Elementary Education. She co-teaches full time with Louise in our preschool group and handles the center’s closing responsibilities.
Alyssa Landry joined the team in the fall of 2020. Alyssa is enrolled at Middlesex College pursuing an associates degree in Family Studies. Alyssa has been cross-trained to work with all age groups as she helps us out part t covering staff breaks and substitute teaching.
